What exactly makes digital clocks speed up when the power supply is weak?
I once moved into an old Victorian that I would have sworn was haunted because all my clocks immediately started gaining time daily. Then, an electrical engineering professor explained to me that there wasn't enough current running thru the house. Based upon his recommendation, I contacted the electric company who came out, updated my box and stopped the problem. But, I can't remember the details of why he said the slow current made my clocks run faster. Refresh me, please.
maybe the clocks know that their not getting electricity and they think their going to die so they speed up so that at a certain point ... See More
There was probably an instability in the wiring due to he previous box. This instability could cause the oscillator inside the clock to ... See More
why do numbers on digital clocks move sometimes?
You know how sometimes when you sneeze or something the numbers on a digital clock look like they're moving? Like all of the lines that make them up move away from each other. Why is that?
i have no idea. but that happens to me aswell, also on tvs. See More

Is there a standard on digital clocks for whether the dot applies to AM or PM?
A friend of mine believes that every alarm clock ever made falls under some sort of industry standard where the dot is always used for the same one. I refuse to believe this is true but i haven't been able to find a large enough sample of clocks to find out. So if I get some people saying their clock has a dot for AM and others saying theirs is used for PM then I would know.
I have two alarm clocks I just checked and here's how they work. SONY - There are two dots, underneath where each dot would go has white ... See More
All the clocks I can remember seeing like that use the dot to indicate PM. There's no written standard for that but there are a lot of ... See More
Why does the separator on digital clocks blink?
As far back as I can remember - All digital clocks have a colon separator that in most cases blinks! Why?
It is basically to help it from 'burning in' on the screen (which makes it dimmer and dimmer over time). It usually blinks every second or ... See More
Does anyone else keep seeing the same time on digital clocks?
I noticed a few people have asked if anyone keeps seeing the same number over and over, but with me I keep seeing 2:22, 3:33 and 11:11 almost every time I look at a digital clock. I'm sure it doesn't mean much, but I just wonder how many other people this happens to. I didn't think much of it at first, but I keep seeing these same times almost every day for the past 6, or 7 months now. Maybe it's a same time phenomenon :-)
I do not remember when it started but i see 11-11 on digital clocks and addresses I will be riding down the road and look over and there it ... See More
Well there is meaning to it, it's just different for everybody. Think of what you were thinking of beforehand, this is also true for deja ... See More

I am going to buy a lot (ca. 30) of large digital clocks. It is important that they are big in size (Something like 900cm^2 or bigger), and that they show hours, minutes AND seconds. Oh, and I live in denmark, so it must be possible to ship them to here. Now, I've browsed the internet for a bit, but I can't find anything. Can you guys help me?

Atomic wall clocks with precise hand movement?
I'm looking for wall clocks with a WWV radio reciever that have precise movement of their hands. In other words, at 12:11:30, the minute hand should be half-way between minutes 11 and 12. Most of the ultra-cheap atomic wall clocks have haphazard movement of the hands. What brands will give high-quality movement for the hour, minute, and second hands? Thanks in advance.
The digital displays are better for what you want, try here, I buy movements for "Tide Clocks" that I build from here, reg. movements won't ... See More
Where can I find an atomic digital wall clock that only tells the time?
I asked this before, received a couple responses, but both told me where I could find one that gives temperature, day, date, etc. This is exactly that which I do not want. I want an atomic digital wall clock that only tells the time like other wall clocks.
Website For Manufacturer Of 'Silicon Scientific' Atomic Wall Clock?
I've Looked For The Web Site Of 'Silicon Scientific' Atomic,RF Wireless With Thermometer & Come Up With A Lot Of Sellers Of The Clocks Of Other Makers, But No Specific Web Site. The Only Seller Of This Model Seems To Be A Reseller/Re-Builder Of Everything You Thought You Needed At http://www.heartlandamerica.com/ Consumer Electronics> Other Electronics Apparently 'Radio Shack' http://www.radioshack.com Is Selling Them As Well. how long do batteries last in atomic alarm clocks? and what type of batteries do they use?
I have a small atomic alarm clock that I have had for over two years. It is a Sharp. I lost the instructions. This alarm goes off every morning at six. You don't even have to set it. How long do these batteries usually last?
