Digital clocks after a power outage?
If there is a power outage, all digital clocks in the house forget the time except for the clock in the computer. Why doesn't anybody make digital clocks that work the same way as the computer clock?
Thanks to everyone about the 9v backup in digital clocks. I knew about that. I'm thinking more generally - microwave ovens, vcr's, etc. Doesn't seem to expensive for the manufacturers to put the battery in it like in a PC? Why don't they?

They're out there. Just look for a clock with a battery backup. Or change the batteries on the ones you already have.
They do, you just need to find one with a battery backup. In addition, the computer display will not work without power, just keep time. I have an alarm radio clock that takes a 9 volt battery as a back-up.
Turn your alarm clock over, there is a little panel. open it and insert a 9v battery, this will allow it to save the time. As vcr's microwaves and stoves do not have built in memory with battery backup you will still need to reset those.
They do. I have an Emerson Research SmartSet Clock as my alarm clock. It has an internal antenna that gets atomic clock time that can be detected all over the United States and most of the civilized world. If the power goes out, the clock automatically detects the current time and resets.

Your computer clock keeps it's value because the computer has an internal battery. These batteries can and do wear out. They do make some basic digital clocks with a battery backup.
moxt digital clocks have battery back-up, check your batteries
all it takes is a simple 9v battery
because it would cost a lot of money
just like your computor put a battery in it and when the power goe out the clock still has the correct time on it. most digital clocks use a 9volt battery as back up. if not dont buy one with out it
