Is there a standard on digital clocks for whether the dot applies to AM or PM?
A friend of mine believes that every alarm clock ever made falls under some sort of industry standard where the dot is always used for the same one. I refuse to believe this is true but i haven't been able to find a large enough sample of clocks to find out. So if I get some people saying their clock has a dot for AM and others saying theirs is used for PM then I would know.

I have two alarm clocks I just checked and here's how they work.
SONY - There are two dots, underneath where each dot would go has white text saying AM or PM. PM is on the top, AM is on the bottom.
RCA - No dots - On the top though there is AM text that lights up, and underneath PM would light up.

All the clocks I can remember seeing like that use the dot to indicate PM. There's no written standard for that but there are a lot of copycats.
